Setting Up A New User in Issue User:

Note: This allows items to be issued and/or work orders to be assigned.

  1. After setting up a person in User Maintenance, they must also be entered into Issue User.
  2. Open System Setup under System Config in the Main Menu bar.
  3. Click on Issue User.
  4. Click on New and Enter their information.
  5. There is no copy feature. If needed, open an existing person that has the same access that the new user will need and use the same settings.
  6. Save and Exit.

Setting Up A User to Validate by Craft on a Work Order:

Note: If a user is not showing in the "Assigned To" drop down menu in Work Orders,  there is no craft assigned to that user.

  1. Open System Setup under System Config in the Main Menu bar.
  2. Click on Issue User.
  3. Select the Person to add a Craft to.  (If the user is not in the table, they will need to be added.  See the FAQ: Setting up new user in Issue User.)
  4. Select the Craft from the Drop Down menu.
  5. Save and exit.
  6. Their name should now appear for the craft specified in Work Order Entry.

How to Locate the eRPortal Backup Data

Note: Upon installation, eRPortal is configured to automatically create database backup files, typically, on a nightly basis. The database containing all data records is exported ("dumped") and a file is created. The file is uniquely named, based on the date and time of its creation, and always has a .BAK extension. So, each night, as new backups are created, new files with unique names are created.

To make it easy to locate these files and incorporate them into your routine backup processes, the database exports are saved to a folder labeled "eRPortal". This folder is located under the default SQL backup directory or path.

C:\ProgramFiles\MicrosoftSQLServer\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Backup\eRPortal

Other drive letters (e.g., D:) may be used instead, depending on the preferences or policies of your IT department and how the system and storage system was configured initially. However, the MSSQL\Backup\eRPortal folder will exist and within this folder will reside the .BAK files that need to be backed up to external media.
