eRPortal Software to Embed WorkPoint in its web/XML based Product Lines

The eRPortal Software Group, a leading provider of web-enabled inventory control and logistics automation software, today announced that it has licensed WorkPoint 3.2, from Insession Technologies. eRPortal Software plans to embed WorkPoint within its product suites to provide business process management features.

WorkPoint enables end-to-end business process automation by tying together all aspects of a process - people, resources and tools. With WorkPoint, new business processes can be modeled, validated and deployed from a central location. WorkPoint automatically queues and distributes work assignments and monitors completion allowing businesses to transparently adopt and distribute new efficiencies and services

The eRPortal Software Group, a unit of Applied Software Technologies, will embed WorkPoint into the eRPortal Purchasing module to add sophisticated workflow and alert trigger functionality. The combined solutions will allow the routing of purchase requisitions based on item type, vendor, and dollar amount. Users will also have the ability to simultaneously check budget approval status based on requester profile as well as item class, and route back approval process results to requestors or supervisors. In addition, users can route PO changes, approvals or cancellations to supply chain partners that are involved in the RFx or purchase process.

Ed Garibian, founder of Applied Software and President of The eRPortal Software Group, commented, "As a provider of Web and mobile-enabled logistics and operations software solutions, adding sophisticated notification rules and workflow functionality into our software maximizes the benefits and return on investment that our customers will receive with our application suites. We are excited with the opportunities WorkPoint brings to our development staff and customers. We look forward to deploying new projects with Insession Technologies and WorkPoint in the future."

"WorkPoint offers a unique combination of scalability, performance and flexibility to any industry," said Mike Sander, Director of WorkPoint Operations for Insession Technologies. "We are pleased to form a partnership with Applied Software Technologies and look forward to teaming with them to offer WorkPoint benefits to their customers."

WorkPoint offers a Java version using Enterprise JavaBeans™ as well as a Windows version leveraging COM+, and can be integrated with all major application servers as well as Microsoft's transactional environment. The solution exposes process management services to other applications via an API. Its core components allow easy modeling of complex business processes and work coordination to effectively automate and communicate processes across the enterprise.
