The eRPortal Software Group Releases its .NET version of    Materialsand Assets Management Software Suite
Released: Dec 10, 2003

West Springfield, MA

The eRPortal Software Group (www.erportalsoftware.com) announced today the release of its .NET version of eRPortal Software. This next-generation platform architecture will help eRPortal customers achieve easier integration with other applications, whether the software is executed locally within Windows, within a browser environment (Intranet/extranet) or via a remotely hosted ASP service. The .NET application environment also facilitates mobile application development, content delivery, and messaging solutions for an array of PDAs and mobile devices.

"Our decision to move quickly to the emerging .NET standard was to ensure eRPortal's level of interoperability with other software systems - both across networks and the Internet," said Doug Ansuini, eRPortal Senior Programming Group Leader. ".NET will open up a whole new level of opportunity for our customers in terms of business communication and integration. In addition, it offers a much easier deployment story, which ultimately saves time and money," Ansuini added.

.NET technology, developed by Microsoft® is a set of software technologies for connecting information, people, systems, and devices. This new generation of technology is based on XML Web services-small building-block applications that can connect to each other as well as to other, larger applications over the Internet.
One of the most significant advantages of the .NET Framework is its level of interoperability with other languages, applications, and systems. At the heart of .NET is the ability to help businesses integrate and manage their Web-based solutions through Web services, which are quickly becoming an industry standard.

.NET enables modern software applications to communicate through standard Internet protocols such as XML and SOAP, creating a channel through which internal and remote systems can easily interact. Applications hosted in-house-in addition to those hosted remotely or those of external systems-can be "stitched together," allowing businesses to quickly meet their unique process or organizational needs.
